Eyelid aesthetics is a surgery that we usually apply to our patients in advanced ages, but sometimes it is applied for young patients when they are not satisfied with the eye shape or the distance between the eyes and eyebrows.

Appropriate shaping is done by taking into account the eye structure, eyelid structure and skin structure before the surgery. Upper and lower eyelid aesthetics can be performed separately or together.

Lower eyelid aesthetics

Lower eyelid aesthetics is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to correct or improve the appearance of the lower eyelids. This process is generally preferred for removing under-eye bags or reducing wrinkles around the eyes.

Lower eyelid aesthetic procedures may include:
  • Removal of under-eye bags: The removal or redistribution of adipose tissue can be performed to correct the aesthetic problems caused by puffiness or bags in the lower eyelids.
  • Reducing under-eye wrinkles: Skin resurfacing procedures can be applied to reduce fine lines or wrinkles on the lower eyelids. These procedures may include chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, or the use of dermal fillers.
  • Correction of lower eyelid sagging: In the aging process, lower eyelids may sag. In this case, reshaping of the skin and muscle tissue can be done to remove the sagging of the lower eyelids.

Lower eyelid aesthetics is usually performed under local anesthesia and the operation time may vary depending on the procedure. The healing process usually takes a few weeks and swelling, bruising and mild discomfort may occur. It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions throughout the healing process.

Upper eyelid

Upper Eyelid Aesthetics It is a cosmetic surgical procedure performed to improve the shape, position or appearance of the eyelids. This procedure can be performed to correct droopy eyebrows or droopy eyelids, to give the eyes a younger and fresher appearance, or to prevent vision obstruction.

Upper eyelid aesthetics is often referred to as blepharoplasty. During the procedure, excess skin, fat or muscle tissue is removed or reshaped. As a result, the eyelids gain a younger, livelier and firmer appearance.

Candidates for upper eyelid aesthetics are usually those who experience one or more of the following conditions:
  • Droopy eyebrows or droopy eyelids: The aging process can cause drooping eyelids along with decreased skin elasticity. This can make the eyes look smaller or tired.
  • Visual field limitations: Excessively drooping eyelids can obstruct the field of vision and negatively affect daily activities.
  • Aesthetic concerns: Excess skin or oil on the eyelids can affect a person’s self-confidence and satisfaction with their appearance. In this case, upper eyelid aesthetics can help relieve aesthetic concerns.

Upper eyelid aesthetics is a surgical procedure that is usually performed under local anesthesia. The surgeon makes an incision following the natural folds of the eyelid and removes excess skin or adipose tissue as needed. The process usually takes up to an hour.

After the operation, there may usually be swelling, bruising and mild discomfort. The recovery process can vary from individual to individual, but normal daily activities can usually be done within a few weeks.
