Liposuction is a method of extracting or absorbing fat from various parts of the body by usage of cannulas connected to a specially designed vacuum pump.
Liposuction can be performed on any part of the body. The aim of liposuction is not to make the patient oose weight, but to shapen the body or the desired area.
The operation can be applied to all age groups, but it is more often preferred in young patients and patients who do not have saggy skin. Traditional liposuction surgery consists of two stages. In the first stage, a special solution infiltration, which is drugs that reduce post-operative pain and prevent bleeding, is performed in the operation area of the patient. In the first stage, vacuum
assisted degreasing is performed. Today, with the developing technologies, liposuction surgery, like many surgeries, is successfully performed without pain and bleeding. Among these technological tools, ultrasound energy-based devices used for different purposes, laser energy-based devices and plasma energy-based devices can be given as examples.
In some cases, after liposuction, we can remove the sagging skin using additional methods and obtain a more beautiful appearance. Nutrition, dietitian support and exercise are very important after liposuction surgery.
